Enjoy a view of Manhattan from Queens.

Take a drive on one of NY’s numerous bridges at sunset.

Grab a slice of New York-style pizza on the run.

Take pix of a boutique store on 5th Avenue.

Have Pho on a freezing day @ Pho Pasteur in Chinatown
85 Baxter Street (btwn Walker & White)
New York, NY 10013

Take advantage of generous entertainment opportunities by world-renowned artists.
Diverse color positioning makes repetition fun: Gabriel Orozco @ MoMA

Be awed by the beauty of Water Lilies by Monet

Visit one of my most favorite places in NY- MoMA
11 West 53th st.
New York, NY 10019
Never saw this place so packed in my life… took an hour just to enter.

Magically make a glass of Frozen Hot Chocolate disappear in five minutes.
Serendipity
225 E. 60th St.
New York, NY 10022
Call it a tourist spot but I just can’t resist it- even the 2 hour wait doesn’t faze me. If I could, I would have one everyday for a month and promise I won’t get sick of it.

Walk around midtown and become actively involved in people/cab watching- trust me, it gets quite interesting.

Conduct Candy & Chocolate investigation @ Dylan’s Candy Bar, where you will be greeted by every single candy ever existed on earth.
1011 Third Ave (at 60th)
New York, NY 10021
Since there was a two hour wait at Serendipity, went around the corner to kill time at Dylan’s. You gotta be smart to survive in NYC.

Take a walk down the memory lane.
PvD- one of my favorite DJs of all time. For a second I thought that I would love to be there… then again, I quit partying quite a while ago, not to mention the fact that I live 3,000 miles away.

Have a break.
Panini & Lemon Soda @ a favorite cafe, Zibetto

Manhattan at night in rain… besides the completely soaked boots, it was quite beautiful.
Lastly,
Reminisce the good old days.
Also be reminded of the reasons why I left.

Went treasure hunting while in Manhattan and I’m quite happy with such unexpectedly beautiful discoveries:

So feminine and flowy; definitely a favorite.

Aww these are so cute! they remind me of the little flowers on sidewalks!

A bit of vintage & modernism- and they are purple!

Elegance is what comes to mind- would nicely complement a little black dress.

Stay tuned- more posts to come from my East Coast road trip!

Lesson 100: Never Drive in the City

Spent quality time with my beloved Manhattan for a good 5 hours

Noticed what large Wifi options I had passing by 55th & Park

Central Park is even more beautiful on a rainy day.

Hello Kitty in the City (Not an official title- I like that they rhyme.

Chinese-To-Go for dinner. It may look a little bizarre, but it’s quite delicious: Shrimp Egg Foo Young & Won Ton Soup
I like how everything can be delivered at any time of the day within 20 minutes in NYC- AND they arrive hot! The delivery men must go through some rigorous training.

New York, Travel
Second day in New York-

Somewhere in Long Island on the way to Montauk

There are lots of these Victorian Houses on the East Coast- I would like one in the Hamptons, please. <333

Montauk

Saw a tiny rainbow on our way back- it was the first thing I saw as I opened my eyes from a long nap
It’s funny how things unfold the way they do. I had mentioned on Twitter couple weeks ago how badly I missed New York (see Sidebar). Then, out of the blue my boss asks if I want to participate in a project taking place in New York (she had no idea that I was dying to go, nor that I had ever even lived in NY).
And today, I got to visit the Hamptons along with Montauk both of which I had always badly wanted to visit, but never had a chance when I actually lived here. Another reminder that God listens to every single prayer, however insignificant it may seem to be.
Connecticut tomorrow.

New York, Reflection

After decades of active self-analysis, I may have finally found myself.
Tomimito, where have you been?

On another note, it’s a strange feeling to be back in New York by myself. Last time I was here, I was with the hubby and didn’t really have time to reflect but to enjoy New York the “tourist style”. Standing in front of JFK in a ridiculously chilly weather with loads of luggage, waiting forever for a shuttle that had no ETA reminded me of the day I moved back to California five years ago- standing in front of my apartment on 9th Avenue, waiting for a shuttle that NEVER CAME. Shame on you, Supershuttle! Oops, didn’t mean to get all upset… this was supposed to be an emotion-provoking, sentimental type of post… :T
