This is what’s called “Airport Fashion” in Korea, because a lot of celebrities are seen wearing something similar in paparazzi shots. I would totally rock this outfit on my trip to Korea that may or may not happen in a few months. (which is a 12 hour flight, btw) This is an amazingly comfortable outfit and it’s surprisingly easy to replicate, as long as you have a camel colored trench coat, sweat pants, a black scarf, and furry boots ie Uggs. Just throw them on and add accessories like I did: a large pair of dark shades and some chunky bracelets… and ta-da! you are a celebrity! ;) Anyhow, feeling blue today. That’s me right now in the first picture, I just want to hide under the covers and… and… blog all night.. I know, what a humble wish. It’s just been one of those days so I went...

best of both worlds

On days like this, I am reminded once again how blessed I am to be living in California. Where else can you go skiing and hit the beach on the same day? Where else do you see autumn leaves and snow on the same day? The temperature has been in the 80s lately and I had a hard time resisting the urge to walk out of the office and head to the beach. I can’t remember the name of the street but these are a result of a detour caused by a major traffic on Wilshire. I love discovering unexpected treasures such as this beautiful tree-lined street. What a pleasant surprise it was! Veda Leather Jacket Genetic Denim Gray Jeans LNA Top Ray Ban Aviators Couronne Bag Hair by Esther at Scissor Sound

Making a Difference One Life at a Time

Call it ambitious, but we dared to make a difference by taking small steps (perhaps not so small in this case) by holding a charity event which turned out to be a success thanks to all the helping hands. Here is a brief photographic recap of the event last Saturday: the venue beautiful jewelry by Sil two artistically gifted ladies: Jessica Kim, graphic designer & Julie Kim, jewelry designer partner in crime getting ready for the big event Shop to make a difference! My cousin who is a creative genius and her little one. I couldn’t have pulled it off without her help. Thanks for everything! My little sister who managed the merchandise display. Another key person who made the event possible. Seriously, without her, it would have been a disaster. Thank you! :D the grand entrance… lol Bool makes the best tacos, period. try their Spicy Pork Tacos!...

Project Ruffles

Project Ruffles

I like to mix things up a bit. Since these suede boots were the only shoes I could work with, I had to be creative. I grabbed a ruffle skirt that I got on sale for $15 the other day and matched it with a white ruffle blouse my mother in law got me as a gift from Korea years ago. Then I, of course, had to tone down the femininity with a black blazer that I’ve had forever and the opaque stirrups from my shop. The look is completed with gold vintage-ish jewelry pieces along with a belt with a gold buckle. I was initially a bit worried that all the ruffles might be overpowering but I think the tights and the jacket really eased up the look.

Eye for the Sensual

It was a free community weekend at LACMA. Sophisticated European paintings and sculptures on exhibition in the new Resnick Pavilion designed by world renowned architect, Renzo Piano Fashioning Fashion: European Dress in Detail 1700-1915 Imagine how different life would have been if we still had to dress this way? I would’ve finished off with cute booties but with a foot that constantly swells up, I spent most of my time on a wheelchair at the museum… so these vintage boots are the best I could do at the moment.. actually they are life savers. Without them, I’d be stuck with my Chucks which would TRULY limit my outfit selections.

Meeting Audrey

I got to attend Audrey Magazine’s fashion show a few nights ago which turned out to be a very interesting experience. I need to do some explaining before I write about the event though, because things were a bit too crazy for me that entire day. First of all, not only was the show being held on a Thursday, this week was the first week back at work for me (from being on a medical leave & working from home for two months), not to mention that I had not gotten any sleep the night before, thanks to my new addiction, Tapioca Milk Tea. Whatever happened that day is such a blur to this day… lol I don’t even know how I even got to LA.. and we actually got there on time! crazy. If I had known that the show wasn’t going to start until 8:30, I would...
