Fashion, art, food, and things in between. Smell of freshly brewed coffee. bike rides on a sunny day. late night walks. unexpected discoveries. unusual color coordinations. naturally stylish objects. co-existence of opposites… 새로움에 약간은 부담스럽지만서도 발견의 기쁨에 가슴뛰는 그런 것.
Since you are here, please hear me out:
Tecate, Mexico 2005
I have a heart for missions. I desperately wish more people knew how wonderful Jesus is. I used to think that it was impossible for people to change… before I met God.
In this particular photo, I hadn’t taken a shower for three days (i know, gross) because there wasn’t enough water for the 27 of us to use on a daily basis. The people in the village only receive a limited amount of water in a tank and it’s perfectly normal for them to skip showers for days or have clean water to drink. but that actually isn’t even considered a major problem. So many kids are abandoned or raised without proper parental care that they don’t know what “love” means, which is why they easily become emotionally attached to strangers (like myself :P) and just won’t let go…
Contrary to popular belief, it is not a missionary’s job to forcefully infuse biblical teachings to people but to teach them about God’s love through action- that someone greater than their parents or friends loved them so much that He died for them. Of course, if your heart is hardened and your ears/eyes are shut, it will only be gibberish. That sure was the case for me before I personally accepted Christ. It was only when I was going through a hardship that I could not bear on my own that my heart finally softened and asked for help. If any of you are going through a hardship, I strongly suggest seeking God. What have you got to lose?
I often wonder why Christians are persecuted so severely for saying what we believe in when people from other religions are not- their beliefs are often freely accepted and even embraced (then again, this only fulfills the prophecy in the Bible regarding the persecution of believers). Are we hurting anyone? If anything, true Christians (I understand there are ones who have yet to fully commit their life to Christ) try hard to spread Jesus’ love (sometimes risking their lives)- of course we will make mistakes, because we are human… it is not our goal to become “perfect human beings”, but to continuously grow and develop our character so that it may ultimately reflect that of Jesus’. I’m mildly offended when Christianity is classified as another “religion”, because it’s not. It’s about developing and maintaining a relationship with God. Christianity is not about “I’m going to heaven because I did what Jesus taught me to do” as it usually is the case with other religions (if you do good, you will be happy; to achieve nirvana, you should do such and such- which ultimately is for your own benefit, nobody else’s- which makes your motive a selfish one despite you may be involved in kind acts) but to be thankful for what Jesus did for us and to spread His love- in doing so, you train yourself to be more like Jesus, which in turn results in a spiritually fruitful life that is filled with Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control.
Christianity is about love. It’s not about me, which was clearly demonstrated through Jesus’ crucifixion. If you would like to demonstrate your love for the people today, please click on below link. There are thousands of kids dying from starvation, including the devastated people in Haiti and Chile. Just a $1 a day can save a child’s life. I sponsor three children, each from a different country and I’ve already received a handful handwritten letters from them. Sponsoring these children was one of the best things I’ve done in my life.

Thank you very much for your testimony… it brightens my heart!
I was browsing through your website/blog because of ilyjessicaomg’s tights video. and i eventually came upon this. and before this, i really liked your “about me” section, especially number 20? haha, the last one about jesus. so true. and i really liked this testimony. :) very true on christianity on not being accepted and love…etc. and im inspired by you on going on missions :)
since last year, i’ve been interested in becoming a dermatologist…in the future. i still have senior year of high school to get through…so, but the first thing that i’m gonna do when i finish my medical schooling, which i believe i’ve been called to, i really want/called to go on a medical mission. I think it would be the most wonderful experience and furthur a relationship with God. Thanks again for this testimony/blog :) Meanwhile, I would want to attend one of our own church’s mission trip to either Cambodia, China, or Taiwan…:) next summer…
I wish I could afford your shop right now, but if/when i can, I’ll be sure to be back. :)
Hi Angie,
Thanks for such a sweet comment. I truly appreciate it. I’m really glad that you liked my testimony. It’s funny though, because I wasn’t planning on writing a testimony but it just turned out to be one… I just wanted more people to know about the poor children in third world countries and lend a hand if they can. I wish there was more I could do to spread the word, but it’s the little things like this that counts, right? :)
That’s awesome that you have a heart for medical missions. There is a great need for that because obviously there are so many people who do not have access to medical help, not to mention food to eat that which so many of us in America do not even realize because we have excess of everything (think King size of everything, left over food, eating when not even hungry, etc) when kids die everyday in Africa because of that specific reason. so keep praying about it, and never give up! and keep me posted if you can. Would like to see where God leads you. :)
Thanks so much for stopping by. May God continue to bless and protect you!
As for my shop, I plan on posting lower-priced items shortly so make sure to subscribe and/or become a fan on Facebook so that you are kept in loop!
