His

Sejin’s outfits

The Changing Room #2

1-2 copy

Truth be told- I had a hard time changing out of clothes when I first signed with Wilhelmina in June 2013; more so, I still wasn’t ready to test shoot with Leonardo In November – he loves accentuating the body; I told my agents I’d pass. Looks like that season is slowly changing.

Out of one outfit and into the next. I did catalog for Obey once – it really did feel like I went through 100 hangers.

The Changing Room #1

1-2 copy

Finally an in-house production- I was changing in one of these fitting rooms when these light bulbs gave me a moment: “We should shoot here”. After going through a couple workers and managers, we turned our idea into a two part series. Here’s ‘The Changing Room’.

1-3 copy

At first we just wanted to explore a selection of pants or joggers, but we’re actually at the flagship store. Why not choose anything I want?

1-6 copy

The 04′-05′ Bulls team made the playoffs. These outfits aren’t competing against each other. Both are winners.

I love how this shot captures the right-there-in-your face display two more times.

AKA: The Locker Room

1-10 copy

I remember fixating myself four feet in front of my little tv screen for the 98′ Finals, Game 6. Jordan, here’s your game winning outfit. By the way, if you don’t know Heehyun by now, there she is!

1-11 copy

I marvel at these hangers. They prophetically seep into my soul. I came to NY late January with the thought that one of these outfits would fit me; however, with each agency turning me down, I’m left to wonder if there are any opportunities left. Look a little closely, I’m wearing one aren’t I?

1-14 copy

Sometimes fatigue and worry sets in. But it’s the responsibility of His saints to see that His light is shining and that His door is open. Help me find rest in you.

1-15 copy

This is my off-season. Time to build shape and character. Yesterday’s defeat may be tomorrow’s victory.

Changed into: Native Youth blue-dye joggers, Koto Sendai joggers, Undefeated black 05′ sweater, Hardwood Classics Bulls sweater, and black Vans.

Splash!

When the forecast calls for 60% showers, it’s time to approach the waters.

These colors sing ‘Happy’ in the midst of a frowning atmosphere.

No, I did not have a life vest. But thank you for asking.

1-10 copy

This is a perfect resting place for seagulls, and I found it comfortable as well.

My response: “I’m Trespassing. Thank you for your cooperation”.

1-13 copy

No wonder it read, “No Trespassing.” The treasure is on the other side.

I got caught- shouldn’t have trespassed.

*Splash*

On a more reflective note, my journey here in NY for the past 2+ months has been a splash into what is wet yet worthwhile. I share what I write in my other blog, a life-journal of sorts, and it reads, “To quest or to question, I chose the latter; my hesitation became the captains’ choice to leave me at bay; if I had left my questions in my pocket, the quest was mine- no turning back; I would have signed and sealed the mission of my last two months – to sign with an agency in NY.”

I remain at the dock. He remains with me.

Tucked

1-14 copy

Waking up early on a Monday morning is always a reality we’d like to tuck away into our sheets, snooze our alarms, and snuggle some more. Most times I choose to save five minutes from hair to hats.

1-13 copy

Haven’t we all lain beneath the sun and only wished that we had a hat to cover our faces?

1-15 copy

Give hats’ versatility a chance- don’t wait for a haircut to look unique on every occasion.

1-16 copy

Keep one eye open and the other one closed.

Birds can be tucked in their nests, but they were designed to fly. We can be tucked in our rooms, but we were created for so much more.

I don’t expect NY’s winter chill to be gone by my next shoot, so expect me to be zipped and tucked to feel NY’s winter warmth.

My Brooklyn Blue

1

Psychologically, blue inspires mental control, clarity and creativity. From her Navy, Royal, light and dark shades, ‘Blue’ takes a visit to Brooklyn with her model.

4

6

Blue’s research suggests "Women... like their men to wear blue. They associate blue with reliability and dependability...” As much as I’ve always told Blue I liked her, she’s had a crush on me too.

9

Our relationship is really transparent. She writes her feelings for me even on public walls. She wrote “Kone” which in Japanese means “Connection”.

10 11

Blue can’t handle a lover’s stare. She shies away.

15

I couldn’t find a hot air balloon in Brooklyn. But I think I did one better. On our date, I asked Mr. Crane-man if Blue and I could go up and view Brooklyn from a different angle. We received.

18

Arms and legs will swing, but Blue will remain forever.

20

The End!

Cast In Order of Outfit Shown:

Topman Flannel

Club Monoco Royal Blue Jacket

Uniqo w/ Jil Sander inspired Jacket

The Black Strap

1-5 copy

The Black Strap: I want to push the boundaries of men’s attire. I believe a man’s appearance should be the reform and the in-between of brute strength and sheer finesse.

1 copy

Let’s play ‘The Price is Right’; Is this sweater $50 or $15? Hint: A successful model will make clothes appear to be more expensive than they really are.

1-16 copy

Bike Path: Models Only

1-15 copy

This was my St. Patty’s adventure- to shoot in clothing without an inch of green. I should have borrowed that guy’s hat in the far left.

1-7 copy

The deep boat neck accentuates the the bridge from body to face; This attire is a float from masculinity to femininity and from femininity to masculinity.

1-14 copy 1-13 copy 1-12 copy 1-11 copy

This sweater is the charm for 60 degree weather and the craziness during a wind’s howl.

1-10 copy

The light I carry is the shadow that trails behind.

1-8 copy

A picture in essence can’t capture a ‘Winter’s Tale’ without the snow. It was a minimal 20 degrees and with the Spring Equinox right around the corner, it was all the less to remain satisfied with this weather and all the more to be hopeful that the sun would shine as it does in LA.

1-6 copy 1-3 copy

The black strap is more than a dichotomy of right and wrong; it is even in H&M’s confusion to have had this red sweater in the men’s collection upstairs. Pull out the black strap and this unassuming sweater becomes the second-guessing between leaving this on the rack or taking it to your closet.

Wearing three H&M women’s knitted sweaters, H&M men’s jersey tank, the always ready-to-action Solo Jeans, and the stylish Eastland boots made in Maine. Thanks for following and support the Sage!

Stinging and Stunning

5

My friends call me Sage. You can call me whatever you like, but make sure to check your heart ;)

4

It’s only been six weeks since I’ve moved out from LA, I’ve spent 22 years there; “Taxi, 14th and 9th ave please.”

I’m riding the HUVr; Darn, thought it was real: “Funny Or Die: Fake HUVr Hoverboard Video Was Our Fake”. Check out the video – it fooled me.

Wearing Director Bee‘s tops & beanies, a standard Levi’s 511 Skinny, and my comfy New Balance sneakers. Terry and I say, “Two Thumbs Up” for my first post. Be sure to follow and support the Sage!
