We had an honor of attending an exclusive event hosted by a cable TV company, Herald Donga, at Grand Hyatt located on top of the hills in Yongsan. Many celebrities along with business executives and industry leaders were in attendance, to celebrate and honor those who made a remarkable impact in the domain of “lifestyle” this past year which included fashion designers Lee Suktae of KAAL, Kang Dongjun of D.GNAK, actor Jang Hyuk, Kang Sora and Kim Saerom.
After a fancy five course meal followed by a performance by K-pop girl group, Hello Venus, came the most entertaining part of the night- Crayon Pop and Kimtaewoo of g.o.d.! I had to try really hard stopping myself from doing something silly, because you know, the atmosphere was oddly calm when all my body wanted was to bust some moves.
Oh yeah, how can I forget the fact that I was extremely close to upgrading my phone to Galaxy Note 4 during lucky draw… too bad I’m the worst when it comes to playing games… but yeah, that’s life. I was able to leave the event happy however, thanks to Jang Hyuk. I’m not usually one to drool over celebrities (unless I’m a huge fan of them) but it turned out to be a very challenging task not to stare when I saw him sitting on a table next to ours. Really can’t imagine him doing anything else besides being on TV. Good call.
Luxury leather goods company MCM had a flagship opening party at Coex last night, and I must say it was probably the most exciting part of my winter so far, ranking really close to the first “real” snow we got earlier this week.
Besides all these shiny little things all of which are totally, absolutely covetable,
(and some furry things too)
(and this cutie pie)
The mega popular, mega famous, the super duper awesome K-pop boys, Exo, had just arrived by the time I had finished getting lost in the new and upgraded Coex mall.
And of course, the only way I had found out about this unexpected encounter was none other than the really long lines of fan girls screaming for their lives in front of the store. (You guys are awesome, by the way. How do you even manage to carry those humongous lenses everywhere?)
I felt lucky nobody threw stuff at me when the staff let me walk on the same red carpet that they had just walked on… I wasn’t even properly dressed for that.
My experience from Seoul Fashion Week reminded me to be extra cautious whenever I post pictures of these megastars so having spent a significant number of hours studying their names and watching music videos, I felt a bit more confident this time around. I don’t need another cyber beatdown, after all. (Check my Instagram if you are curious.)
(I’m secretly Kai’s fan. He was actually the only member I was familiar with from the group until I ran into Chanyeol and Sehun at SFW. I can watch him dance all day.)
I’m starting to really want one of these backpacks. hmm…
We got to play games and win stuff… Sadly, my number was NOT called. 59 is obviously not a lucky number.
Oh yeah, totally forgot to try out that instant photo machine. My mind kind of got lost being around Exo, you know. Next time.
Didn’t realize that MCM made sneakers too. These are pretty sick.
There was a runway presentation, which only lasted a few minutes but definitely memorable.
What can be found at the MCM Lab… Science will never be the same.
Got two of these as a gift on my way out and they actually make me want to write and not type! (fyi, I have a horrible handwriting.)
These lab technicians will show you the latest and hottest bags of the season.
They are also trained calligraphers.
Seriously… my dream come true.
If Willy Wonka had a lab…
The macaroons were so amazing. And I’m not even a fan of them. Favorites were green tea and chocolate! Mmm~
And Exo fans, here we go..!
I’m guessing some of you were supposed to be elsewhere? haha
Chen (see, I wasn’t lying when I said I spent time studying)
This is such a busy design but looks so good put together like this. MCM really has their way of making over-the-top designs look awesome. Kudos to Michael Michalsky, and of course Chen for making it look so beautiful.
Wait.. stop scrolling…
don’t kill me now… You would have totally done the same if you were me… just imagine him standing right in front of you getting ready to leave…
Just to confirm, that is NOT my hand.
Meanwhile, visit the new and improved Coex! There’s so much to see, buy and eat!
Thanks for reading~

In case you were wondering what real “Gangnam Style” is about, City of Gangnam in collaboration with Coex, Hyundai Department Store, and Woori Bank presents an annual event that celebrates the vibrant town of Gangnam that is deemed the most fashion forward in the country. This year being our first time attending (thanks to the team at Caruso), we didn’t quite know what to expect but it turned out to be an interesting one where music, art, and design converge.
Rapper Swings killing it (or attempting to, or almost). Honestly it was my first time listening to his music and while it wasn’t strikingly awesome nor bad, what got me really intrigued was upon learning the fact that he was the key person who caused a havoc in the industry last year by personally attacking the Korean rap scene in his song King Swings. More recently, he participated in a TV Hiphop survival program Show Me the Money 3 as a producer for which he collaborated with another talented rapper, San-E.
After Swings’ entertaining performance came an array of fashion shows beginning with what looked like Korean street wear mostly consisting of sweats and tights. I think I heard at some point that the collection was a collaboration effort between a multi brand shop KUD and designer CY Choi. Really wished they would take more time to share more information before they started sending models to the stage. Without a thorough understanding of what I’m about to see, it’s just a wasted 10-15 minutes because in my mind, I’m continuously trying to figure out what it is that I’m looking at.
Then came the real thing: Caruso by Chang Kwang Hyo’s F/W 2014 collection which was covered on our site previously back in spring when he first showed at Seoul Fashion Week. This was the reason why we were there so to be honest, anything else that came prior just seemed like a prelude.
It’s always interesting to see these shows come alive after participating in a preparation process. We had the honor of joining Mr. Chang at his model casting a few days earlier and I couldn’t wait to see the few selected good looking men do their thing on the stage. For some, it was their debut show which could be seen and felt but all in all, it was an excellent show- especially loved the creative take on the catwalk during which some models came in a pair and sometimes a trio depending on the mood. Instead of a straight line, some took a zigzag course which was somewhat distracting but definitely refreshing especially because I already had a thorough understanding of these pieces from doing an intensive coverage last season (well, not so “last season” but you know fashion is weird when it comes to “seasons.”).

Ms. Hudson, nice to meet you.
She makes a lovely duet with this Versace party scene.
Do I even have to mention these names?
Followed “Chapter” on Insta and Marcel is one of their guys. People love the drop-crotch pants I bought on the site.
Super fond of the electro-harmony with Feist-like rhythm and gorgeous in-sync attitude.
Noticing another model – Chiharu Okunugi – ranked in the top 50 on Models.com // take me to her ball park.
Chiara Ferragni, the star blogger of theblondesalad.com and photographer Micol Sabbadini.
Skinnier VERSUS Heftier; just read the picture.
The Fashionisto Prince – Ty Hunter; I wanted to collab with him – He said, “I’m Beyonce’s stylist”.
Swimmer’s shoulders but model face // who’s she with?
Jay: “I have a proposal”. Naomi thinks to herself, “Yes, go ahead”.
Oh Karen, you’re standing next to a MUA.
Fenton Moon howling at these boys.
Blonde Craze Howls and the Hunter Receives.

Ugh, so not.
Ginta Lapina, the face of every girl’s favorite, Le Teint Touche Eclat by YSL.

Tomimito meets Korean stylist – network.
I just can’t.
Rihanna stood and got her picture taken; I stood and wanted my picture taken.
Beautiful. Long hair model’s GF.
Collection. This party was by far the pinnacle of parties for the Tomimito crew – photos by Justin of Donatella sitting down with Naomi and Jennifer were as sharp and life-catching as the ones I’ve seen on Elle. Minaj watched the show and Rihanna was there at the party – we’ll catch a better pic of her next time.
