Tell me your wish

Tell me your wish

Took my niece to SM Town Live on Saturday at Staples Center. I won’t go into details but there really was no way for me to say no. So there I was, with my swollen foot, waiting in line with 1000′s of teenyboppers. While the show wasn’t so bad after all, my butt and foot were in pain only after an hour or so. Had I known that it would last four hours, I probably would have tried everything in my power to let go of the opportunity. Anyways, it was great to see familiar faces in person nonetheless, especially being a fan of Kpop and all. It’s awesome that Kpop has gotten so popular that we are now able to rent a world renowned venue like Staples Center, but what amazed me most was the fact that more than half the audience was non-Korean, something nobody would have...

Saw this one at The Wynn in Vegas. Was seriously tempted… Ahh, a quilted clutch in my favorite royal purple?! You are my dream come true! If you haven’t noticed, I’m a sucker for bold colors. If you are going to be yourself, might as well go all out like these bags- if you are green, go all the way- be Turquoise! Then again, I wish it was that easy in reality, to really be yourself… :P Image Source

Fear is the Enemy

Fear is the Enemy

I have an anxiety disorder. Call it Mysophobia, Bacteriophobia, Germaphobia, or OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), I’m just freaked out about getting myself getting into contact with bacteria or getting infected with a virus. What’s funny is that I didn’t know that this was a disorder until recently. I thought everyone was fearful of bacteria. I thought everyone washed their hands ten times a day. Since quite a number of people find it amusing that I’m such a way, I thought I’d take the time to observe and analyze my behavior for which I was able to come up with a following list: 1. I worry about germs transferring onto my pants and hair whenever I’m at a movie theatre. I think about the people who sat before me: ‘Where were they before sitting here?’, ‘Were their clothes washed? What if they were sweaty?’, ‘I wonder if they had washed their...

PWNED

If you were once a n00b like me, you probably thought people actually cared about your career development when you first walked into the corporate jungle. NOT! They don’t give a shit about you! Yeah, you heard me right, all they care about is THEIR own good! They will do anything to get ahead even if it means using people, talking shit, lying, you name it. Why didn’t someone tell me this sooner? Darn. Why is it that I ALWAYS learn everything the hard way… which I actually don’t mind now that I think about it, because that’s what makes life adventurous, right? So yeah, there is always this manager who says one thing and does another. Just when you thought you were done and is ready to explore new opportunities, he says he will give you important projects, promote you, a raise, blah blah blah… Then, you get...

Idea Machine

Lately, I’ve started realize that I’m actually more creative than I had thought. For those unfamiliar with my background, I went through some intensive training in art when I was in Korea and everybody thought I would end up doing something artsy. Interestingly enough, I ended up quitting art during my first semester studying Graphic Design because of the feeling of inadequacy and “lack of creativity.” Growing up, I was always given a subject to draw or paint. I was rarely given a chance to create something on my own, and when I did, I was often made fun of. But when I started learning art in the States, I realized that my thought process wouldn’t allow me to think outside the box obviously due to the particular way I was trained. For the longest time, I considered creativity as something only pertaining to the field of art (again,...

Men’s Fashion Pet Peeves

Couple months ago, the hubby and I got into a fight. We were running late and I was quite annoyed as you can imagine, although I couldn’t blame anyone but myself. While on the freeway, I noticed something peeking through his shoes, shining brightly.  ’No, this can’t be,’ I thought, turning my head away from him. I tried to calm myself down by thinking, ‘He’s not that kind of person. No way.’ When I looked at his ankle again to confirm, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. The attack of white socks! OMG. The rest is history- I asked what was going on, only to be appalled by his answer, “I wanted it to match my shirt.” What? Are you serious? Just so you know, he is known as the “Stylish” type among friends and families. When he goes out, he always gets asked on the stuff he wears...

What Is Your Problem?

What Is Your Problem?

Have you ever had a “WTH” moment at work? You know, when a coworker gives you crap for no reason. According to my research, it seems that such species exist in every organization. You know the type that gets mad at you for no reason at most inconvenient times, the ones who make you feel bad about something that you hadn’t done, ones who get upset at you when you were only trying to help, the type that makes you feel like you just got dumped. Basically, the “what-the-hell-is-your-problem” kind of person. I understand people are stressed, sometimes from work, sometimes from marriage, home, kids, whatever. BUT what have the people sitting next to you done to contribute to that stress? It’s entirely a different story if your coworker belongs to either of the categories listed in previous posts or annoy the hell out of you on a daily...
